100% attendance

        100% attendance
Today all 16 children from Room 2 were at school and on time! It is the first time, this term (and it is week 9), that every child in the class has been on the mat when Miss Poi has called the roll. She was so happy!
One of our manaaki goals is to achieve 100% attendance. If we achieve this, then we get an extra 10 minutes play during interval.
We also talked about, and recorded our ideas on "why it is important to come to school everyday".

Miss Poi was so happy that everyone was at school on time, so we took a photo to capture that moment.

Burger Rings Boy's Blog

Today we looked at blogs from schools in the Manaiakalani programme.

One of our favourite blog posts was this one called Burger Rings Boy

We made a comment on Burger Rings Boy's blog:

Screenshot of the comment we made on Burger Rings Boy's blog.

It was neat watching the videos that other learners shared about their learning. Maybe we could learn to create and share videos too.

Our Production: Believe

Our whole school did a production about making people believe in fairy tales. Lots of our families came to watch us do the production. They were proud of us.

Photo: All the fairy tale creatures came to Shrek's swamp.

Photo: Mother pig, three little pigs, farmer, gardener, builder, wolf and a reader.
This photo reminds us of our classmate Ariana, she has gone to Australia to live. All of these fairy tale characters are from Room 2.

The production started at 6 pm so that our families could come, we had to go early so that we could ready into our costumes. In our practice production we mucked up sometimes, but by the final night we almost got it all right. Some of us were nervous and got stage fright.

Our next school production will be next year, we might do Snow White or The Wizard of Oz.
