Week 2

Room 2 has had some changes this week - we are now the Year 1 class with Miss Poi and Koka Ringi. The Year 2 tamariki have moved into Room 4 with Koka Kararaina. So our class has gone from 28 kiddies to 13, but that won't last for long as we have 3 new students starting soon.

Printing the Letter P

Kia ora koutou,
In Room 2 we practice our printing every day.  Today, we were practising the letter P!
We were all listening very carefully to make sure that we were creating careful letter p's, starting in the right place and remembering to start right at the top for the capital P, and halfway down for the lowercase letter p.

Can you see how well we were concentrating, by looking at our photos?

Our Bubble

Last week we created some Bubble Art after reading the book "Bubbles". Later on we talked about the people who were in our bubbles during lock down, and why it was important to keep our bubbles safe and small. We drew pictures of our lock down bubbles too.

Anzac Day

Anzac Art with Acacia and Braxton

Tomorrow is Anzac Day, however it will be commemorated much differently to what we are used too, as New Zealand is still in lockdown.

Acacia (Room 1) and her sister Braxton (Room 2) created beautiful poppies to celebrate Anzac Day. Their mum Bridget, talked to them about Anzac Day and asked what the day means to them:

Acacia said: "It’s celebrating Anzac Day".
Braxton said “Its mummy’s birthday, and we remember when New Zealand and Australia went to war and died”.
