Our Values

Manaakitanga is our school value.
We talk about manaaki and what this means to us.

Manaaki Balls are to reward you for showing our values.
Today we set a goal of reaching 20 balls by Friday, then we get to have golden time.

Golden time is about what we choose to do, like using the computers, art and making slime.
This week I hope we get to do art.

I do the same job as Koka Renee in some other schools in Gisborne.
Manaaki Balls sound like a great way to track your progress and to work towards a goal. I hope you get 20 balls by the end of the week. I wonder what your golden time will be?

What a great way to earn Golden Time. How many Manaaki balls have you got today? Will you get 20 by Friday?

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments:
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about

We are learners at Elgin School. This is a place where we will be able share our learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just our first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. We would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Ngā mihi nui,
Room 2 @Elgin School.
