Marshmallow Towers

Marshmallow Towers

STEM CHALLENGE Week 6:
Today our challenge was to build the tallest tower out of marshmallows and straws. At first the children were excited, but after a while they found the challenge wasn't as easy as they had thought!

This is what some of our students discovered....

  1. Kia ora Room 2,
Room 1 at Kawakawa Primary has been looking at all your challenges on your blog. We think they look fun and quite challenging.
Your marshmallow towers are awesome and we like that they are all different.
Room 1 thought they looked easy to make when we saw your pictures but after reading your post we think they actually sound tricky too.
Did you eat any of the marshmallows?
Have you tried making them with anything else?
    From Room 1.

    1. Kia Ora Te Waipuke, my name is Bruce Williams and I am 7 - Wow 58 medals! That's so cool. Maybe you could heat up your marshmallows and make it look like blue tac.

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments:
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about

We are learners at Elgin School. This is a place where we will be able share our learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just our first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. We would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Ngā mihi nui,
