Elgin School Pepeha

Elgin School has their own pepeha.
Here is Room 2 saying their school pepeha.
You can read the pepeha - it is below our video.
Does your school have a pepeha?

Ko wai tō ingoa?

We know the school pepeha and now we have been learning our own pepeha.
We have made recordings of us saying our names too and
will try to make a movie of it so we can share it.
Some of us were away today so we will add our selfie
as soon as we can.

Visual Mihi

Room 2 created a visual mihi.
They used Google Drawings to create a
visual mihi to show information about themselves using images.
Room 2 were making smart decisions about their digital footprint when they created their visual mihi.
They had to decide which personal information they could share online to show the 4 most important things in their life.
Look at their visual mihi and see if you have the same things that are important in your life as them.

Spring

Every week we work with Kōkā Cheryl.
She is a facilitator with Manaiakalani.
Last week we made Spring Poems
from a magnetic poetry template.
This week we had a go at using the polyline tool in
Google Drawings to trace a daffodil.
We also created our own flowers using shapes and scribble lines.

Here is some of our work. Do you like Spring? We do!

Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu

Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu:

Week 1: Term 4:
This week has been a busy one for Room 2. We have moved into the library as our class is getting a new roof and walls. This week we practiced our earthquake drills, as we took part in the big shake out. We are also getting ready for our local Kapa Haka festival, athletics and our Marae Noho - which are all in the next few weeks.

This term we are also part of the Tuhi Mai, Tuhi Atu program - where we buddy up with other manaiakalani classes and follow each others learning blogs. This term we are following Room 1 from Kawakawa School. Below is a little slide show introducing our class to our new friends.
