Balloon Rockets

Balloon Rockets

Week 7: Stem Challenge:
The challenge for the week was to create a balloon rocket using straw, tape and a balloon. We had to create a line for our balloon to travel along. We could put our line anywhere in the class - as long as we were safe and cleaned up our mess.

This is what we found out...

  1. Dear Room 2,
this science mahi looks exciting. I really liked the way you thought about what wasn't working and what you experiment with to make it work. Maybe you can work for Rocket Lab as scientists! https://www.rocketlabusa.com/launch/launch-sites/

  2. Kia ora Room 2,
My name is Tania and I am the Manaiakalani Outreach Facilitator who sets up Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu, our blogging programme. It's great to have your class on board this term. I live in Whangarei, which is a LONG way away from where you live in Gisborne. Have any of you ever heard of Whangarei or been to Whangarei. You could check it out on Google Maps and see how far away it is. I am looking forward to checking out your class blog this term and leaving comments for you. I hope you enjoy having another class to blog with from Kawakawa (that is even further away than me!). Have fun learning, creating and sharing!
    Ngā mihi
    Tania

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments:
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about

We are learners at Elgin School. This is a place where we will be able share our learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just our first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. We would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Ngā mihi nui,
Room 2 @Elgin School.
