Te Reo Lessons
Te Reo: Week 5 - 6
Room 2 and Room 1 have been having Te Reo lessons together for the past few weeks. We have been practicing using simple greetings and saying goodbye. Some of the Room 2 tamariki thought it would be neat to show their new learning by creating short video clips.

First Post 2019
Kia ora and welcome to Room 2's first blog post for the year! This year Room 2 is made up of year 2's, 3's and 4's. Altogether there are 25 of us! Yesterday was the first time this year that we were all at school before the bell - Miss Poi was super happy.
For our manaaki lesson we talked about the importance of being at school every day.

Marae Noho
Marae Noho
Last week Elgin school stayed the night at Muriwai Marae. Every year our school visits and learns about the different Marae around our region. Muriwai is special to us because we are friends with the children from Muriwai school. We have also learnt about Te Kuri a Paoa (Young Nicks Head) which is part of Muriwai. Here are a few stories from Room 2 tamariki about their stay at the marae.

Elgin School Pepeha
Elgin School has their own pepeha.
Here is Room 2 saying their school pepeha.
You can read the pepeha - it is below our video.
Does your school have a pepeha?
Ko wai tō ingoa?
We know the school pepeha and now we have been learning our own pepeha.
We have made recordings of us saying our names too and
will try to make a movie of it so we can share it.
Some of us were away today so we will add our selfie
as soon as we can.
