Museum Visit

Museum Visit

Yesterday Room 2 visited the Museum. We were learning about the land before people arrived in Gisborne. We had to put birds, and creatures like bugs and insects in the right place on the landscape board. I had a brown moth. I liked searching for the taonga around the museum too. By Bruce

Yesterday we went to the museum. We had to wait outside because we were too early. We got to climb the trees, and I watched the water fountain. We also played tag. We went out the back and had oranges and a drink of water. My favourite part of our visit was searching for the taonga around the museum because I like exploring. By Dre

  1. Kia ora Ruma Rua,
I work with learners in other schools in the same way Koka Amie does.
Your museum trip looks exciting. I went to the museum the other week and enjoyed learning about the Tairāwhiti Journeys in our area and what happened a long time ago. What taonga did you find in the museum?

    1. Kia Ora Mrs Krausse, thank you for writing a positive comment. We found fish hooks, a Captain Cook painting, and a bird catcher that Maori people use to use so they could eat them.
Thank you from Room 2 at Elgin School.

  2. Kia ora Room2,
Some of us have been to the Museum as well. We saw big stars on the wall once. We also searched for taonga and found a big Māori statue.
We like how you were waiting and playing outside and allowed to climb the trees.
We like how you wrote and told us about what you did.
How did you get to the museum. We usually go in cars with parents and sometimes on the bus.

Thank you for your positive, thoughtful, helpful comments:
Positive - something done well
Thoughtful - a sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what they had to say
Helpful - give some ideas for next time or ask a question you want to know more about

We are learners at Elgin School. This is a place where we will be able share our learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just our first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. We would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Ngā mihi nui,
Room 2 @Elgin School.
